ONEIROI, so named for the Greek gods of dreams, is a hypnotic, 17th-century Persian motif. ONEIROI’s dream-like maze of concentric circles is dotted with five-petaled flowers and playful, scrolling horn-like ornament-- or is it ivory? As Homer wrote in The Odyssey, dreams that enter through a gate of horn are true, and those that enter by a gate of ivory are false.
